The Florentine griffe created the commemorative plaque that also became an act of charity
This morning during the Benvenuto Brunello – world preview for the presentation of the vintage that is about to be launched on the market – Giovanna Gentile Ferragamo presented the design of the commemorative plaque of the 2011 harvest, created by stylist of the top international fashion house “Salvatore Ferragamo”. The same design was reproduced on 6000 T-shirts and 500 sweatshirts that were for sale during the event. The proceeds of the sale will be used entirely for financing the purchase of a new ambulance for the Confraternita della Misericordia di Montalcino.
As Giovanna Gentile Ferragamo underlined, “we wanted to celebrate this great harvest by reproducing, through the creative style of a floral composition that we use traditionally in the design of our scarves and that distinguishes us throughout the world, an exclusive image of the grapes of this land that make Brunello unique. A unique land – continues Giovanna Ferragamo – to which my family is closely linked and that my brother Massimo, a fervent aficionado of Brunello and Montalcino, promotes all over the world through his estate Castiglion del Bosco. Indeed –concludes Giovanna Gentile Ferragamo – our brand as well as that of Brunello, are both international brands, symbols not only of Tuscany but also of the whole of Italian style that permeates the world. That is why we accepted enthusiastically the Consorzio’s proposal to design the commemorative plaque and to take part in this event and above all to use the design for an act of charity for the benefit of the Misericordia that for centuries and not just in Tuscany has provided an invaluable service of assistance and succour”.
